Letters from an English Major
I look forward to working with scientists, and authoritative figures, in the fields of Astronomy, Environmental Sciences, Marine Biology, Psychical Anthropology, and Film Production. My aim is to collaborate with these leaders with their writing, and the publishing of their research.
The reason why I find this collaboration important is because scientific language, although appropriate for the scientist, becomes difficult to learn for aspiring students, an inquiring society, or the enthusiastic layman. Understanding scientific language within scholarly journals becomes a task in its own due to the content being technical and dense.
My job would be to not only listen and understand the research, but write them out in layman terms, or practical language. Doing so would allow the imminent expansion of modernity's "free information" to unravel itself. Collaboration with another authoritative figure from another field would also benefit the study, expanding on and potentially opening up conversations regarding theory and concepts that become bigger than the intended whole.
